This piece has been on the way for quite some time. Some people think abstractions are the more easy theme to paint, but although it’s never the same, abstractions of this size sometimes takes quite a while and a lot of layers to finish. Halfway through I got stuck and the target seemed so far away and I did in fact get quite annoyed! But the suddenly, one nights sleep after, I had it, and the finishing touches were made.
This one is a tribute to the summer I’m waiting for to move closer. It has now been one year in Denmark for me and my family. A year which has gone by very very fast, but with those ups and downs you might expect when you move country after 11 years. The winter here has been long, cold and boring. Rain and a grey, dark sky many day. If only it would snow so the snow could light up everything – including my daughters face when she realizes it’s there and you can go play.
I love this painting. The colors, the composition and the concept.
